Neurosciences

The mission of the BRI Neurosciences Research Center is to enhance communication, encourage collaborations and improve research infrastructure to benefit BWH researchers with the goal of studying the nervous system and its disorders at the molecular, cellular, anatomical, translational and functional levels and subsequently generate better treatments.

Center Overview
Our investigators are pursuing breakthroughs in the treatment, prediction and prevention of brain disorders such as multiple sclerosis, tumors, stroke, epilepsy, psychiatric illnesses and Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases. The Center’s collaborative nature promotes the discovery of new treatments and accelerates them from the laboratory bench to the patient’s bedside.

Together, we plan to capitalize on the historical achievements of the BWH neuroscience community to create an unprecedented level of interdepartmental cooperation and leverage the multi-disciplinary strengths that exist at BWH.
