Rock the Mic: Postdoc Fast Pitch

BWH Postdocs, do you want a chance to pitch your research at Discover Brigham and win a cash award? Based on your submitted abstract, you could be invited to present your 4-minute pitch.

Your pitch will be judged on Clarity, Significance, Composure and Enthusiasm!

The best pitch rated through live audience polling will be awarded $1,000.


  • Applicant must be a BWH postdoc
  • An applicant may only submit and present one abstract if selected to give an oral pitch. Communication with presenters will be primarily via email, please verify that the correct email address.
  • Applicant’s Name, Degree, Email Address, Phone Number, BWH ID Number, Department and Division
  • Applicant research type/category
  • Did you attend or plan to attend either Presenting Your Science Communication Workshop in September? (Check all that apply)
  • Did you plan to attend the Research Connection LIVE: Tips and Tricks on Presenting Your Research to Donors and the Media on Oct 19, 2020? (Yes or No)
  • Have you attended any other workshops/seminars on communicating/presenting your science/research? (Yes or No)
    • Text box for if yes; workshop/seminar title and year attended.
  • Applicant must get approval from their PI to present
  • Applicant must provide their PI’s name and email
  • Abstracts MUST be limited to 200 words maximum. Anything longer will be truncated for print. Tables, charts, or graphics cannot be included.
  • Applicant must provide a lay summary (NO MORE than 200 words) targeted for attendees without a scientific background.
  • Applicant must also provide clinical implications (MUST be limited to 40 words and accessible to a lay audience) – please describe the clinical implications of your research.
  • Abstracts will be reviewed via an internal review process and the top abstracts will be selected in advance for oral pitch.
  • Relevant instructions will be communicated closer to the event
  • All applications must be completed online and submitted through this link.
