Below are the eligibility criteria for participating in the Discover Brigham Poster Session. Abstracts will be accepted from Monday, March 30, 2020 through Wednesday, September 9, 2020.  An abstract submission must be completed online through this link.



  • Participation and eligibility will be limited to 99 poster presenters, the applicants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis if they meet eligibility criteria.
  • Abstracts on any type of research are eligible for submission
  • Please select which category your research falls under: Clinical, Basic, Epidemiological or Translational Research.
  • Please select the category that most closely identifies your research, as locations will be assigned using this information.

  • Please select YES or NO for the following questions:

    • Do you want your email address (email used in this form) included in the program and online as a contact for those interested in reaching out to you?
  • An author may only submit and present one poster but may be a co-author on multiple posters. Communication with presenters will be primarily via email, please verify that the correct email address is given for the presenting author.
  • Abstracts will be reviewed in advance of the meeting and the top abstract(s) could be selected for the “Brigham Research Institute (BRI) Research Excellence Awards” or “Connors – Brigham Research Institute (BRI) Excellence Award in Women’s Health and Gender Biology”. Winners will be acknowledged at the award ceremony at Discover Brigham. There will be no live judging at the event.
  • The sessions will have electronic poster boards. Relevant instructions will be communicated closer to the event.
  • Videos are acceptable as part of the poster or can be substituted for the presentation in its entirety but audio is discouraged in order not to distract from neighboring presentations.
  • Posters that have been previously presented at national meetings or other internal events are permitted.
  • Abstracts MUST be limited to 200 words maximum. Anything longer will be truncated for print. Tables, charts, or graphics cannot be included.
  • Authors must also provide a lay summary (NO MORE than 200 words) targeted for attendees without a scientific background. If applicable, include the clinical implications of your work in this summary.
  • Authors MUST attest that their scientific and lay abstracts have been reviewed by Partners Innovation.
  • Presenting author must have a BWH affiliation.
  • Presenting author must have your scientific and lay abstracts reviewed by Partners Innovation: If you are unsure of who your department licensing manager is, please visit the research navigator at

  • All applications must be completed online and submitted through this link.

11:40 AM – 12:10 PM
12:20 – 12:50 PM

All Posters Must Be Uploaded Before 11:00 AM.
Onsite upload will be from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on November 12th.
Advance upload will be available. Please see additional information below.


We will notify poster presenters on which session they will be presenting at once posters are reviewed by our committee.


Distributed throughout the hospital, locations to be assigned after submission and reviewed by our committee.


Limited to Instructors and below (include Fellows, other trainees and staff) with a BWH affiliation to present a poster and eligible for Research Excellence prize(s). Please see additional information below.
