I live in Boston with my husband and have one son and two grandsons.

I was asked to join the original Nurses health Study in the mid 1970’s. I don’t know how I was selected, but have been faithfully filling out the annual/biannual questionnaires for the last 40 plus years. I have also taken part in some of the sub-studies, such as donating blood samples, toe nail clippings, a lead and bone density study.

As the years progressed, answering the questions, I realized I should eat more nuts and legumes and less red meat. Also, do more weight training and stretching. I am glad I picked up on this because I have remained healthy and take no meds.

This year I joined the new Cosmos study.

I have been retired 10 years now from Mass general, where I worked for 39 years, ended my career as an OR nurse.

I volunteer at The Museum of Science. My husband and I are world travelers and spend our winters on Sanibel Island, Florida.
