ESL Classes
The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course is offered by the BWH and MGH Offices for Research Careers (ORC). Participation in the course is limited to BWH and MGH research and clinical fellows.
The course covers:
- Speaking and Listening
- Vocabulary and Grammar
- Pronunciation
Time Commitment: This course will require a time commitment of one night per week for 8 weeks from 5:30-7:00pm starting in March 2025. Classes will be held virtually through Zoom. Attendance is required in order to receive the full benefits of the course. Students with four or more absences from classes will not receive a certificate of completion.
Placement Test: All applicants will be required to take a brief oral placement test prior to the start of the semester. If interested in the course, please use the link below to sign up for a placement test slot. Signing up for and completing a placement test confirms registration for the course.
Coffee Chats
International postdocs are welcome and encouraged to attend our upcoming Conversation Practice Series.
This event series is designed to give postdoctoral fellows and other research staff an opportunity to practice their scientific English in a casual, low stakes setting.
Enjoy some afternoon coffee and treats and chat with other international researchers.
Registration is encouraged but not required to attend!
