MGB Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Seminar

February 28, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The four-hour Mass General Brigham Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Seminar includes faculty presentations and discussions on authorship; data management; documentation and integrity; conflict of interest and interactions with industry; research misconduct; and post-award financial management. The seminar also includes an overview of basic regulatory and institutional requirements for research involving human subjects, stem cells, animals, and biohazards/recombinant DNA.

RCR training is required of students, trainees, and investigators with career development awards who are supported by National Institutes of Health (NIH) funds. New RCR standards were implemented by the NIH in January 2010. As of January 4, 2010, the National Science Foundation (NSF) requires RCR training of undergraduates, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with any NSF support.

This seminar fulfills Part 1 of the RCR requirements:

The MGB RCR Program consists of three parts:

1) MGB Seminar – Offered three times a year;

2) On-line training through the CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) RCR Modules; and

3) Participation in no less than four hospital-based lecture/discussion offerings identified as eligible for RCR credit.

Registration is required in Healthstream
