Soft Launch of the Research, Discovery & Innovation Website

Thank you for visiting our new website! This has been in the works for a while and we are excited to launch the first phase of the website. The website consolidates multiple research websites housing resources, funding opportunities, events, educational materials and other relevant research content into a single, streamlined website that will offer easier search, more accessible content as well as feature more members of our research community, more research projects and just all around more research on the website, highlighting the outstanding contributions of the Brigham community.

Phase I: Soft Launch

While this is a launch, a website is also very much a work in progress and we will be continuing to update this site with new content over the next few weeks, with the initial launch focused largely on resources, funding and events.

Events Calendar

We have attempted to consolidate as many event calendars as possible, so that you can find various offerings from the various research offices and groups in one place. The first phase of the new site will feature an events calendar exclusively featuring events sponsored or hosted by the groups on the website (Brigham Research Institute, Research Education, Office for Research Careers, etc.). The calendar is largely meant to serve as an ‘at a glance’ snapshot of what’s happening in research each month, with more information available by clicking into each individual event page.

That being said, we recognize how important it is for members of the community to get promotion and marketing for their events and how useful such a calendar could be for those events, so in the future, we may incorporate a community events submission function so that members of the community could submit their own events for inclusion on the calendar. This will not be part of the initial launch of the site, but will be something we’re looking to implement, ideally before the start of the academic year in the fall.

News and Newsletters

There are a number of different newsletters to subscribe to, each offering something different for researchers, anchored by our Research Connection Events & Announcements (sent every Thursday, contains events and announcements from research offices as well as those submitted each week), Friday Funding Opportunities (sent every Friday, contains funding opportunities, award and deadline announcements and other relevant funding resources for researchers).

There are also more specific emails focused on things like clinical research, animal research, innovation and more. Take a look at the Newsletters page and sign up for the newsletters that are most relevant to you.

Funding

Some of the highlights of the new site include a robust funding page featuring multiple searchable, sortable and filterable tables for internal and external funding opportunities, as well as an archive of past awardees and prize winners for prizes offered by the Brigham Research Institute.

Remember to sign up for the Friday Funding Opportunities Newsletter or check out our new Funding landing page to get connected with resources and search for funding.

People

There is also a greater emphasis placed on the people conducting the research at the Brigham. We wanted to make sure we were really showing who does the amazing work and one of the ways we are doing that is to feature profiles on the website for those who have engaged with us in some way through a funding opportunity as a finalist or winner, a poster presenter, a speaker or panelist at an event, a co-chair or working group member, etc. If you are engaged with research at the Brigham in such a way, we highly encourage you to fill out the Bio Submission Form. If you have any laboratory or research photos you’d like to share for use on the website, please include those, too, we’d love to feature them.

If you have any questions about the website or have suggestions for ways to improve the site, please use the contact form.
