José Ignacio Nolazco, MD

Biography

José Ignacio Nolazco, MD, is a urologist, Fulbright scholar, and 2nd-year student in the Master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation (MMSCI) at Harvard Medical School. He is a Research Fellow in Urologic Oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Also, he serves as a member of the Networking Committee at the BWH Postdoctoral Leadership Council and as Director of Policy and Advocacy for the HMS Master Students Council. José is interested in improving cancer survival and quality of life among oncologic patients, as well as minimally invasive surgery and cancer epidemiology in South America.

He earned his MD degree from Facultad de Ciencias Biomédicas, Universidad Austral, Argentina. He completed his urology residency training at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, after which he became Chief Resident. 

He was honored with the Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat Fellowship from Harvard University and the Archibald Fund’s Monica Mourier Archibald Memorial Award. Additionally, this year he became an NIH scholar, collaborating with the All Of Us Research Program and the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. 

José is an enthusiastic, optimistic, and open-minded person. He enjoys exploring the city with his wife and daughter. José’s hobbies include soccer, tennis, ping-pong, chess, and classical guitar.
