1st Annual Postdoc Survey 2022
BWH PLC Advocacy Committee
The BWH PLC Advocacy Committee is proud to launch our first annual Postdoc Survey to collect information on the needs and challenges faced by the BWH postdoc community. The survey is anonymous and all questions are optional.
Enter a drawing after filling out the survey for a chance to win one of three prizes!
The questions are designed to collect data on diverse areas, including finance, work environment, training quality, and visa sponsorship. The answers will help us work with the hospital leadership to address the most urgent, unmet needs to create a better experience for the postdoc community.

The BWH PDA is looking for eye-catching new artwork to spruce up our communications! Submit your idea for a design by Friday, September 16, and then there will be public voting throughout the week of NPAW (Monday, September 19 – Thursday, September 22). The winner will be announced on Friday, September 23 and will receive a special prize.

NPAW Raffle 2022
Entries Close Friday, September 23th
Thanks to the generosity of BWH Development, we are once again able to raffle off Samsonite wheeled carry-on suitcases and Keurig K-1500 coffee makers! All current BWH postdocs are eligible to enter for FREE.
Submit the raffle form ONCE before Friday, September 23 at 5pm.
You can also gain an additional entry by attending one of our NPAW events below (not counting the headshots), and a third entry by attending all four eligible NPAW events: Annual General Meeting, Ice Cream Social, Smart Art, and Advocacy Town Hall with High Tea!
Be sure to sign in for attendance at the event to be counted. Only submit the raffle form once, we will cross-reference with event attendance.

Join Postdoc Leadership Council (PLC) President Eshaani Mitra, PhD, and the BWH PLC to celebrate our postdocs and kick off the 2022 National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW)! The winners of the 2022 Postdoctoral Scholar Award for Excellence in Mentoring will be announced. We will unveil the PDA Logo Design Contest submissions (see above) and open online voting through Thursday, September 22. There will also be a preview of the events planned for the appreciation week.
All postdocs are encouraged to join and get excited about NPAW!

All postdocs are invited to attend this Annual General Meeting of the BWH PDA to meet the Postdoc Leadership Council (PLC), hear about the PLC’s plans for the year, and make your voices heard as to what YOU want to see from the BWH PDA in 2022 – 2023.

Put down your pipettes and pick up a paintbrush! Join us for an afternoon of art-making. We will have prompts for inspiration, or you can follow wherever your muse takes you. Come to hang out and de-stress while letting your creativity flow! Prizes to be awarded.

Professional Headshots for Postdocs

Register in advance for a 10 minute slot to have a professional headshot taken free of charge. Walk-ins are allowed if they can be accommodated between booked slots, but we cannot guarantee that there will be room for you.
We are thrilled to announce that due to great turnout, we have been able to expand slots to include Friday 9/23, Monday 9/26, and Wednesday 9/28!
We hope to serve as many postdocs as possible, so please keep signing up. If all slots fill up, you can fill out this new interest list to add even more days in October.

Spill the tea! Join this open forum to share your views on our postdoc community’s most important issues. Learn about the BWH PDA Advocacy Committee’s work to improve postdocs’ working and living experiences, ask questions, and raise issues for discussion. We hear you! Refreshments, a light lunch, and snacks will be served.
Plus, the winner of the 2022 PDA Logo Design Contest will be announced to close out NPAW!
