Championing an Enriched Experience for BWH Postdocs

If one wanted information on the PLC Advocacy Committee in September 2021, they would have been hard-pressed to find it. A completely voluntary committee, it seemed to be one of the casualties of the 2020 COVID-19 shut-downs. However, just one year later, it is a thriving and enthusiastic team. That is due, in no small part, to the commendable leadership of its current Co-Chairs, Shamsuddin (Shams) Bhuiyan and Lien Nguyen.

Postdoc Scholars Award for Excellence in Mentoring

This award recognizes postdoctoral fellows’ efforts in mentoring fellow postdocs, students or interns on research projects and/or career development. Winners are awarded a cash award of $1,000 and recognized at the annual National Postdoc Appreciation Week in September.

Mentoring Circles Program (MCP)

MCP is a program created by postdocs, for postdocs, to help fellows get the most out of their training at BWH. Two mentors (senior postdocs) meet 5-7 mentees (junior postdocs) on a monthly basis to give advice and advance their career.
